If intelligence is the ability to learn, then babies are born geniuses! Cost of having a baby?

I am only 19 but I have been wanting to have kids for the past year, although I know that I could not manage it properly as I would want to be there all the time, not send my kid to daycare, and buy them all the things they would ever need. Obviously I couldn't as I still like to go out and party once in a while, don't have enough money and still have 2-3 more years of college left. Basically I want to be the stereotypical mother of the 1970's who stays at home, has lunch and dinner ready, does all the laundry, bakes a lot.. My boyfriend likes that I actually want to do that.

Can someone please convince me that it is too expensive, or give me an idea of how much your life changed when you had a baby? I know it would just be too hard and my family would look down on me, but I need a serious slap in the face.

Also any positive things you found happened when you had a baby too. I just want a reality check

Should talk to my dad? (F***ed up situation)?

I'm 16 yrs old. Last year we found out that my dad's been cheating on my mum for years. Now he's moved out, and visits me about 2 to 3 times a week. The thing is, my dad's 54 yrs old and is dating a 26 yrs old, so she's less than half my dads age (that's f***ed up). Apparently (more…)

One of the things I’ve reflected on over the years is how students and the whole education environment have changed. I was born on the leading edge of the Baby Boom. I started grade school in the 1950′s, was in public school all through the 1960′s and in college in the early 1970′s. After that, I went into the Marine Corps for 20 years. I don’t (more…)
